FORMER Owls star Chris Waddle will help kick off a new Sheffield lottery this week with the chance to win from a fiver to £25,000.
The city-based Cavendish Cancer Care is running the weekly competition to help it raise the £60,000 a year the Wilkinson Street charity needs to keep going.

Lord Mayor Jane Bird has signed up to be the first subscriber.

Just like the National Lottery the numbers run from 1 to 49 and the Saturday draw costs £1 a week. But unlike Lotto you need the numbers as they are drawn.

"And unlike the National Lottery 50p in every £1 comes back to charity," says Cavendish spokesman Johnny Cole.

Every subscriber has a unique number so the top prize isn't shared.

There's a one in 63 chance of winning a prize.

The lottery is being run by an independent company.

Cavendish pays 8p from each pound raised as insurance against the top prize being paid out.

Join up at the Wilkinson Street office or visit www.cavcare.org.uk for an application form.
