SHEFFIELD businessman Michael Charlesworth died while on the waiting list for a lung transplant.
Michael, who lived in Dore, was diagnosed with a rare lung scarring condition two years ago.

He died just two days before he was due to marry his fiancée Andrea Carrington.

Michael founded the Headlines Elite hairdressing chain which has three branches in Sheffield. He previously owned another eight branches around the UK.

He had been on the NHS waiting list for a transplant in the hope of receiving new lungs from a donor.

My deapest condolences to Michaels fiance and family. I havent got the words to say what i feel after reading this . I too believe that when you go on the list you think you will get a transplant but am too aware that this is not the case. I hope people read this article and put their name on the register. I am making it my mission that i will encourage people to join the register . My family and I send our love to you all and you are in our prayers .

This is John Miller Helens husband .

Dear Andrea, I care for Helen who is on the transplant list waiting for lungs.I know the anxiety this causes a rollercoaster ride into hell. I feel such sympathy for you and the fact that your dreams feel like they have been dashed. Cherish the memories you had and the good times you shared. I applaud you in the fact that you want to continue the fight for people to sign the register. All our prayers are with you , John Miller ( Helen Miller's Husband and carer)

dear everyone, thank you all for your support and kind words.
This tragedy as left my son and I broken hearted and our family is now incomplete.
I can not imagine our lives without him in it. I no a donor is to late for michael but please in his memory become an organ donor today, I would not wish our desparate unhappiness on anyone else. my heart breaks for our son and that michael will not see him become the man he as some way shaped.
myself and michael and i know I can speak for helen and john miller need everyones support in becoming an organ donor today.. thankyou

words carnt explain how i feel after hearing of michaels passing.after working for michael for 13years i will be left with so many good memories of such a fantastic man.my thoughts go out to andrea at such a sad time.i too went out the next day and signed up for organ donation it is too late for michael but if more people sign up it will save others and stop families like andreas having to lose a loved one.god bless you michael gone but never forgotten.

Andrea, i was sat reading the HJ when i read the news, it stopped me in my tracks.I am so sorry for your loss,i new how much you loved Michael.What a great man you had,he was a talented and inspiring person who made a great impact on everyone he met.I will allways remember the great times we had.Thinking of you.x

I was a trainee at the headlines on leopole street nearly 7 years ago but still remember micheal to this day. On my first day he walked in and demaded to know why i wanted to be an hairdreser he scared me half to death!but he also inspired me and i wouldnt be were i am today without is incourgement. I am truly sorry for your loss he was a great man
