Adrian Holmes,

Sheffield 15/10/2008 14:03:34
To David's family, I recently lost my 15 year old son, Benjamin on the 6th of September 2008. I do understand how you are feeling and my heart goes out to you. To lose a family member at such a young age is simply cruel and unfair! My thought are with you at this tragic time.

Ben Rogers,

merrist wood college, guildford 15/10/2008 21:41:52
I am training to be a tree surgeon on the same course as david was on. On behalf of all the Arborists here we would like to offer our deepest condolences to David's family. I didn't know David, but those who do are still talking about how well liked he was and how much he will be missed.
When we all heard about the tragedy, students and teachers alike were deeply stunned and very obviously made aware at how fragile life is when you are harnessed to a tree with a chainsaw day after day.

We all hope that the family and friends of david find a way to recover from their devastating loss and know that the thoughts and prayers of those here at merrist wood are with them.
