Darren Boocock and his wife Sharon, both key members of Sheffield Tiger's backroom staff, died in a road traffic accident.
The couple were rider and pillion passenger on a motorcycle which was in collision with a lorry on the A631 between Maltby and Tickhill on Friday July 4.
They leave a 12-year-old son.
The crash happened just hours before the speedway Premier L
eague trip to Somerset.
Tigers boss Eric Boocock said: "Darren knew his stuff when it came to the sport of speedway. He's been building engines for Tai Woffinden, everyone's tip for greatness, and he was a good pal of all the team."
Bert Kingston, in Cleveland, Australia, sent this tribute: "It was with disbelief when I received the news of this tragedy last Saturday morning Brisbane time.
"Both Darren and Sharon with son Jack were visitors every Christmas to the Cleveland home of their mum and dad's and we shall not experience such a joyful Christmas for years to come.
"On behalf of everyone from Downunder especially Brisbane, may I convey our sincerest condolences to Sharon's folks.
"R.I.P. Daz and Shaz, until we meet again in the big Stadium above."
