FORMER Sheffield pop singer, Colin Lumsdale, has died aged 51 following a car crash in South Africa.
Colin, front man and lead vocalist with popular 80s band Radiation, was injured after the car he was driving crashed when a tyre burst as he travelled home from work in Johannesburg.
He was taken to hospital where he remained in intensive care for a week until he showed a slight recovery and was moved on to a general ward.
But Colin's condition deteriorated and he died shortly after collapsing while walking back to his bed after going to the bathroom.
New romantic band Radiation were well known in Sheffield during the early 1980s when they regularly played to packed venues including Steeley's Nightclub and the Dial House Club.
