Tickets on sale ahead of club’s trip to Wembley

TICKETS were today going on sale for Chesterfield FC’s trip to Wembley.

The Spireites meet Swindon Town in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final at the stadium on Sunday, March 25.

Chesterfield have been allocated 21,158 tickets in the east side of the stadium - a further 15,000 are available if needed.

Tickets, priced £26 to £60 for adults, were going on sale to South Stand season-ticket holders from today, with West Stand season-ticket holders able to buy theirs from tomorrow and East Stand season-ticket holders from Thursday.

Tickets are due to go on general sale on Tuesday, February 21. For details, visit www.chesterfieldfc.com

n Chesterfield’s old Saltergate ground has been bought by developer Barratt Homes for a housing estate.

The ground, which has been empty since July 2010, when the club moved to the new B2Net Stadium, is set to be replaced with 68 homes.

Work is due to start in the next three months where a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes will be built.

Holly Sawford, of Barratt East Midlands, said: “This will be a flagship development due to its close proximity to Chesterfield town centre.”
