Birthday girls all reach 100

FOUR female centenarians celebrated their 100th birthdays in the same care home.

Mary Outram, Ida Bell, Kathleen Laughton and Mary Rotherforth live in Sandygate care home, Wath-on-Dearne.

Mayor of Rotherham Coun Shaun Wright helped mark their remarkable lives in a celebration day.

The women were presented with flowers and booklets commemorating their lives.

Tom Parramore, from charity MHA which runs the home, said: “We had a champagne buffet and nothing was going to stop Mary, Ida, Kathleen and Mary from having several glasses to enjoy themselves!

“They were delighted to be honoured in the way they deserve and we were thrilled to have arranged it.”
