Pancake race proves lots of fun
Zainab Koroma navigates the course
WHAT a flipping race! Not only did residents at Eagle House home in Sheffield have to flip a pancake in their challenge for Shrove Tuesday, they also had to do it in fancy dress.
Some enjoyed the fun while wearing silly hats in their wheelchairs while others carefully walked to the finish line.
The overall winners were resident Yvonne Else and Tanya Young, who works at the home for people aged over 55 with enduring mental illness.
Joanne Thornhill, business manager, said: “It was a great day.
“One of the ladies wore African dress as she is from Africa and won the best-dressed prize, everyone else wore silly hats.
“This is the first time we’ve done the race and I think we will again because it was so much fun.
“Everyone had pancakes for their tea as well so it was a real celebration.”
The pancake race was staged around the grounds of Eagle House, on Stalker Lees Road, off Ecclesall Road.
