What is that? - PICTURE
ANN Beedham is trying to identify this instrument made around the 1940s, possibly at Hadfield's steel works.
It may be some kind of heat/pressure control. Does anyone have any idea what it is?

DONNA Nugent writes from Australia in the hope of tracing her cousins.
She says: "My mother (Betty) Edith Elizabeth Cook was born on January 18, 1929 and spent her early years in an orphanage.
"She was in the orphanage until she came out to Australia and married Bruce David Carter. They had five children, Aubrey, Sally, Mary, Therese, and Donnamarie.
"My mother's parents were Norman and Beatrice Cook. She had two brothers, Norman and Leonard Cook, and both, I believe, went to war. Also, many years before she passed on she found out she had a stepbrother named Eric Pittman. I believe he has passed on.
"One of these brothers (Norman or Leonard), I believe, had four daughters and one of the girl's name was Helen. Helen travelled out to Australia many years ago and visited my mother in a small country town of Augathella Qld Australia.
"My mother passed away in 1999. She never spoke much of her early years in England as it was very traumatic for her. She did write to her family but since she has passed on we have lost contact with her relatives.
"This saddens me deeply as I know all of my father's family and all of my husband's relatives but always draw a blank to my mum's side. I'm sure she has wonderful nieces out there who would like to meet their Aussie cousins."
