Why can charity shops sell fakes?
I FREQUENTLY use charity shops and find they are over-priced and sell fake or imitation designer brands without a second thought.
I recently returned a Louis Vuitton handbag to a charity shop that was a very good fake. Selling fakes is illegal! Why are chaities allowed to sell them? Even E-bay bans you if you sell fakes. Who's monitoring the charity shops?
I've also had a charity
shop manager imply that
my husband switched a price tag on something to try and get it cheaper...and then refuse to sell it to him at the price they had tagged it at.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for charity shops, but I
think they sometimes forget just what they are...charity shops.
They get items for free but they all over charge.
You might as well go buy it from the original shop and pay near enough the same price. Why would you want a 'hand me down' with a stain you later find and then when you take it back they give you an instore credit.
Who does it help when they're asking excessive amounts for second hand items? The fat cats at the top of the charity pyramid, I'm guessing.
