Thanks to samaritans

I AM writing this in the hope that it will be read by two guys who helped me when I was stranded in Sheffield.

Last Thursday evening I attended a concert at the O2 Academy in Sheffield.

I became separated from the person I travelled to the concert with, and missed the last 11.15pm train back to York. I had no money and was in a city I didn't know.

I asked the police several times to help me out but they did not want to know. All they did was direct me to the train station and told me to wait in there until the first train the next day.

They decided to close the station at about midnight leaving me well and truly stranded and scared.

Had it not been for Jason and Chris, two of the city centre security patrol guys, who saw me in a bit of a panicked state, I would have been truly alone.

Jason and Chris were really good and though they couldnt provide anywhere for me to go, they told me I would be safe in Peace Gardens as it was patrolled through the night.

Thanks guys, had it not been for you two keeping an eye out for me, I would have truly been in a state in a city I didn't know.

Anyway, thanks for nothing Sheffield Police: what a waste of taxpayers money, never there when you need them.

Also thanks for nothing to Mr Jobsworth in the station who kicked me off the platform and wouldn't listen to me when I was asking for help.

I feel really disheartened that the police bang on about being safe when you are out etc, yet showed no human feelings when I needed it.

I am just thankful for the guys who helped me out, and feel that you deserve some recognition for the kindness you showed. I won't forget that.
