Poem on abused patch of woodland
I AGREE with Terry Howard (Viewpoint April 30, green open spaces are not waste ground for dumping rubbish). Here's a little poem about my abused little patch of woodland, Bowden Housteads Woods.
If you go down to the woods today,
You're sure of a big surprise,
It's full of shopping trolleys,
All at Asda price!
Deep inside these woods,
Strange creatures you will find,
They live on lots of lager,
According to the cans they leave behind.
Their sole purpose is to bring nature to its knees
As they lurk in the undergrowth,
Setting fire to the trees.
So for anybody living on the edge of the wood,
If you haven't got fireproof fencing
You should!
