Homophobia in Jamaica

FOLLOWING verdicts in the Stephen Lawrence case, Neville Lawrence has returned to live in Jamaica as he ‘feels safer.’

As a heterosexual man he may well do. However this cannot be said for the many gay men and women in Jamaica who live with constant fear, intimidation and violent harassment, including acts perpetrated by police aimed at driving them underground.

Homophobia is a very real fact of daily life for gay people in Jamaica. Where are the tweets from Diane Abbot etc condemning the abuse of gays there?

Collect unpaid council taxes

do we have to collect bins fortnightly so £2.5 million a year can be saved?

The council failed to collect £26m in council tax. That equates to some 10 years of savings from the bins. Surely they should ensure this doesn’t happen and residents who pay their dues aren’t penalised.

Councillors should stop blaming the Government for everything and start looking closer to home.

As we all know, officers are incapable of running a polling station properly, never mind the fourth largest city in the United Kingdom.

Bit of a sweeping statement there #5 don't you think ? Two men who happen to be Muslim hardly represent the whole of that faith. It might highlight one thing though and this is why I stay away from all organised religions .........just look at all the "nutters" they attract ..... I'll start you off with Joan of Arc ....

Muslims are as bad as Jamaicans as evidenced by the recent trial of the two men who put up posters saying gay people should be killed (I've forgotten how).

It might be p[rudent if Diane Abbot refrained from making any public remarks whatsoever. If she had been a Tory MP she would have been out of a job by now. But Ed loves his plucky buxom wench.

Has Diane Abbott commented on the homophobia within the West Indian community in England?

Homophobia in Jamaica, how does that effect anyone in Sheffield. Unfortunatley, its not just Jamaica, it is most of the islands out there. I am not saying its right but its how things are out there, and its sad but true Diane cant comment because she is not a politican in that country, what a stupid comment to make anyway.
