Cursing teenagers make poor parents

WALLOP! Didn't Paul License get his Speaking Out column spot on last Friday!

The morals of the new generation leave a lot to be desired and it's what they see and hear in the home that starts the rot.

My children, both now in their 40s, have never ever brought any disgrace on either my wife or myself and we are extremely proud of them and their children who are growing up with the same values and attitudes as their parents.

The language that you hear in the street, on the buses, in fact everywhere you go, is deplorable. But the young people who use it think it's normal to swear in front of children and women... and this kind of behavior is not just restricted the males. In fact I would say females are worse.

You can hear schoolgirls turning the air blue on any bus in Sheffield.

It's a pity a Community Police Support Officer cannot travel around the bus routes and get people who swear put off the bus.

Our friend, Brenda, who is a pensioner, was on the 47 bus when the bus stopped to let on a young man in his late teens or early 20s. Along with him was a small boy of around four. Brenda didn't know if this irk was his father or what - but the child (being a child) didn't board the bus quick enough for the irk so he just shouted "Get on you little c***".

The little boy got on sat near Brenda and said to her: "I'm a little c***".

I don't know what other readers think but this man with the little boy should be birched then put in the Army for five years.

The poor little innocent boy will grow up thinking it's normal to swear.

Another incident witnessed by a good friend of mine: he was at the Newfield Green shopping precinct when a young woman with a child was walking by. She said to a teenager with a dog coming in the opposite direction: "That's a f****** great dog you've got there mate, its f****** ace." This to her is normal.

I would like to know where these young people, who don't work, manage to get the 300-plus to buy these must-have dogs. Some of them have two.

I dread to think just what this world is coming to with people like these being parents. Their poor offspring will think we are strange because I and thousands of people like myself have values and morals.
