Appeal to switch to British veal
HALF a million male dairy calves are born every year in the UK and because they can't produce milk, and farmers tend to consider them unsuitable for beef production, they are killed.
One way of giving male dairy calves a better life is to rear them for British veal. Most of the consumed veal in this country is imported from continental systems that do not meet British welfare standards.
If veal eaters switched to British veal, the British farming industry would be able to give more calves a better life. Compassion In World Farming are running a Calf Life campaign. More information at supporters@ciwf.org.uk
