CAN you dig it? Yes we can.
Children visiting an open day at the Brushes Allotment site in Firth Park, Sheffield, got stuck into a bit of digging and a whole lot more.
There were all sorts of fun and games at the event including a treasure hunt mask making.
The Parents and Carers Allotment is a new partnership between First Start Children’s Centre and Heeley City Farm.
A spokesman said: “The allotment builds on the work already achieved on the adjacent double allotment site on the Brushes site.
“The existing Sure Start allotment has been open to local families for seven years.
“It provides gardening and DIY training, an outdoor playgroup for the under fives, cooking courses and much more.”
The site will be run and supervised by members of the local community with support from the First Start Children’s Centre and Heeley City Farm.
