New bridge to boost safety

WORK will begin on a new bridge at Killamarsh which will become part of a safe traffic-free route for pedestrians and cyclists this Sunday from 10am.

The bridge, part of a scheme led by charity Sustrans, will cross the River Rother and will be open for use in the spring.

It will allow those from South Yorkshire and Derbyshire on foot and on bike to avoid the busy Station Road, where fast traffic and narrow pavements are a problem.
