Housing proposal withdrawn

A CONTROVERSIAL planning application for land on Sheffield’s Peak District boundary has been withdrawn after 242 people objected including neighbours, councillors and countryside campaigners.

Two new houses and triple garage were proposed for the curtilage of an existing property in Stocks Green Court, Totley.

The applicant had submitted plans for a pair of Elizabethan-style homes of “traditional appearance”, with four and five bedrooms, along with a large detached garage.

Members of Sheffield Council’s city centre, south and east planning board had been due to consider the application at a meeting on Monday.
