Celebration set for Burns Night

ENTHUSIASTS of all things Scottish are getting together for a celebration of the country’s most famous poet.

Sheffield Caledonian Society is hosting a Burns Night party at St Andrew’s United Reformed Church, Upper Hanover Street, on Friday, January 27, from 7pm.

There will be entertainment, including readings of Robert Burns’ poetry, performances of his songs and a supper with a distinctly Scottish flavour.

The society’s arts group is also hosting a party on Saturday, January 7, which includes a raffle to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Hospice.

There will be a display of Scotland’s scenery, music and singing and story-telling.
