Art to celebrate history month

A ‘VIBRANT and original’ piece of art has been created to celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month in Rotherham.

Rotherham’s Rainbow Road is a 10m artwork featuring drawings, stickers and glitter and is on display in the top corridor of the Rotherham Library and Arts Centre this month and next.

It was created by children and young people at September’s Rotherham Show and is part of a display that also includes a timeline of significant events both nationally and in Rotherham.

It supports the theme of this year’s history month by featuring sporting celebrities, some of whom have achieved worldwide fame for their Olympic success.
