Writer Sue Hepworth lives near Bakewell. She has worked as a research psychologist, a social researcher, a full time mother and a combination of these. Her new novel Zuzu's Petals is out now in paperback. It is set in Sheffield and Wensleydale.
The last book I read
The Enchanted April by Elizabeth Von Arnim. It combines humour with great characterisation and evocative descriptions, and it's optimisitic and uplifting.

The last CD I bought

My husband and sons will shrink away in disgust when I admit it wasn't 'real' music, but the soundtrack of Out of Africa. The film is a bonding movie for me and my daughter.

The last film I saw

Witness on the DVD at home. It's old, but it's a classic. The stark contrast between the world of the Amish and the violence of the Philadelphia crime scene is finely drawn. The cinematography is loaded with meaning, with the continual contrasts between dark and light echoing the theme, and yes, OK (I admit it!) the young Harrison Ford is really dishy.

nThe last TV show I watched

Channel 4 News. There isn't much I want to watch on the telly at the moment, but Jon Snow is my hero. He focusses on the things that matter, and doesn't let the politicians (or other key figures) get away with spouting rubbish.

The last place I visited

Wensleydale. I love the wide valley, the hills, the dry stone walls, the waterfalls, the feeling of space. I love the Peak District, too, but I feel more free in Wensleydale.

The last meal out

I went with my husband to Borivli, an Indian restaurant in Bakewell. It's light and airy in there, the service is friendly, and it's our local Indian, just three miles down the road. My husband and I are both at home during the day but it's so good to go out and have time to talk undisturbed. The food's good in Borivli, of course, but I eat to live, not live to eat, which is why I suppose I mention the food last!
