HER name might sound sweet but just how peachy is Peaches Geldof? Last month the wildchild daughter of Sir Bob and the late Paula Yates was reported to have taken a drugs overdose. Apparently the 19-year-old was lucky she didn't kill herself.
But despite the media fuss, Peaches hasn't admitted overdosing - simply that accidents happen. A weak response if ever there was one. If she lives her life in the public arena then it's not enough to dodge issues.

Saying that overdoses are 'something people go through in their lives' is a ridiculous statement, especially considering her own mother died from a heroin overdose.

Peaches was only 11 when Paula Yates was found dead of a drugs overdose. Is losing your mum so young and so needlessly something we have to 'go through in our lives' too? She's grown up without a mum and seen the misery that drugs can cause.

If that doesn't send out a narcotics warning shot then there's no hope. Peaches was never destined for a quiet life and this week she's back in the spotlight after getting hitched in Las Vegas.

The good news is that following her nuptials she can finally change her name - the bad news is she's still stuck with Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa. I doubt whether she'll settle down to a quiet married life.
