A COMMUNITY centre has been given a new kitchen as a thank you gift by housing contractors who used the building as a respite centre for tenants.
Kier's Decent Homes team carried out the work free of charge at Hutton Croft community centre, Hackenthorpe.

The committee at Hutton Croft allowed the centre to be used by residents whose properties were undergoing Decent Homes work.

Barbara Stapleton, chairwoman of Hutton Croft tenants' and residents' association (TARA), said: "We are all very pleased at the finished result."

Kier also installed a new kitchen at Swallow Wood Court, in Woodhouse, and flooring at the Handsworth TARA office.
