Trade unionists gathered at Sheffield’s Remploy factory to lay a wreath as the site closed with the loss of 75 jobs.

The protest was organised by the GMB union, which fears many of the affected disabled workers may struggle to find other jobs.

The factory made furniture and there was interest from private firms in taking it over but agreements fell through.

The Government says subsidies used for Remploy would be better-spent helping disabled people into mainstream employment.
