Work has started on a £5 million road improvement scheme in Rotherham.
The nine-month scheme started on Sunday and is expected to cause delays for motorists on the A630 Centenary Way.
Work is taking place to change the Masbrough Pool Green roundabout into a signalled crossroads junction.
During the works a traffic management scheme will be put in place that will allow traffic to travel in both directions along Centenary Way – but on only one lane in each direction.
There will be no access onto Centenary Way from either Masbrough and Main Streets and there will be no access across the junction.
Rotherham Council cabinet member for highways, Coun Gerald Smith, said disruption will be kept to a minimum. But he added: “This is a major project on one of Rotherham’s major roads and so there will be disruption.”
