Tuna Technologies, the Sheffield-based boutique electronic games developer, has hooked three top accolades at the Big Chip Awards.
The Electric Works-based business scooped the top Grand Prix Award at the annual celebration of the best in the digital and creative sector in the north of England, after also winning awards for Best Use of Visual Design and Best Use of Gaming.
Tuna scored its success with its strategy game, Eufloria HD, which combines space exploration and evolution, with players pitting their wits against artificial intelligence opponents to develop semi-organic plants and creatures on asteroids in deep space.
Tuna specialises in developing projects for mobile, traditional gaming and on-line platforms, ranging from iPhones to X-Boxes.
Its clients have included Channel 4, Electronic Arts, Activision, Microsoft and Screen Yorkshire.
Shaun Fensom, chairman of the Big Chip Awards steering group, said: “This year Big Chip has attracted the widest spread of entries yet, from all parts of the North.
