Bramall Construction has won a place as one of the companies supplying the construction needs of a new consortium of social housing providers in Yorkshire and the Humber.
A total of 14 organisations with a spending power estimated at £975 million, have joined forces to set up a procurement framework, designed to cut the costs of works, materials and services required by social landlords and public sector bodies and encourage local firms to bid for work.
The consortium, which includes Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Berneslai Homes in Barnsley, Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Homes and Doncaster-based St Leger Homes, has divided Yorkshire and Humber up into three sub regions and invited companies to put themselves forward as potential suppliers for each region.
Rotherham-based Bramall, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, has been named as one of the contractors chosen to carry out improvement and maintenance work for the Framework and will operate in all three of its sub regions.
Bramall’s managing director, Neil Baxter, said: “This is an innovative Framework which will create efficiencies in social housing across Yorkshire and the Humber.
“Being awarded contracts across the three sub-regions is an achievement of which we are incredibly proud.”
