A FESTIVAL is taking place involving shops and businesses in a Peak District town - to promote local produce.
Totally Locally, an award-winning ‘shop local’ campaign, will launch in Bakewell to tie in with the Bakewell Food Festival.
Taking place on Saturday and Sunday April 27 and 28, the Bakewell Food Festival will ‘celebrate the wealth of excellent local produce’.
Fifty stalls and many of the local shops will offer people food and drink, with special offers.
Dorota Holden, Totally Locally organiser, said: “Bakewell is the latest of many towns across the UK to take up the Totally Locally campaign.
“The free initiative supports Bakewell’s traders to show the value of local shopping and its benefits for the economy.
Many of the shops, businesses and stalls will feature special £5 offers in a week long ‘Totally Locally Fiver Fest’.
“This offers a chance for locals to discover Bakewell’s great shops and businesses, and the real difference they make to our town.”
