ONE of the UK’s top unit trust managers has visited Sheffield to talk to the region’s leading independent financial advisers.

Richard Buxton, head of UK equities for asset managers Schroders, visited the city to speak at an investment conference for Independent Financial Advisers, organised by investment managers Rensburg Sheppards.

James Bedingfield, senior investment director at Rensburg Sheppards, said: “It was a real coup to secure Richard Buxton as a speaker. He is a highly respected fund manager and his presence attracted a lot of interest from IFAs who were keen to hear what he had to say.

“This conference was a huge success. We see this as part of further developing our relationships with IFAs in this area.”

The conference was held at the Mercure St Paul’s Hotel. Also speaking at the event were Tom Street, director in charge of the Sheffield office of Rensburg Sheppards, and chief investment officer Chris Hills.
