Doncaster apprentice Michelle White has been awarded a top honour by Leeds College of Building.
Michelle is a third year apprentice gas fitter with St. Leger Homes and was chosen for the award because of her excellent work ethic and the help and support she gives to other students.
Doncaster Mayor, Ros Jones, said: “I would like to congratulate Michelle for achieving such a prestigious award. Apprenticeships are a vital way of providing the young people of Doncaster with skills to ensure they have a prosperous future. We are pleased that St. Leger Homes provides such high quality training opportunities for our young people.”
Simon Gill, her tutor at Leeds Building College, said: “Michelle is a really excellent student. She always produces high quality work and we have also been very impressed by the way she helps her fellow students.”
Michelle is the latest in a series of St. Leger Homes apprentices to be recognised for their quality of work and excellent attitude to their job. Fourth year apprentice plumber Lloyd Marshall has progressed through to the JTL National Awards final in the plumbing, heating and ventilation category. The final is to be held at the Tower of London in February 2014.
