Telly’s harshest food critics, Masterchef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace, will be putting the heat on eight young chefs at Meadowhall next Wednesday.
The Shopping Centre is staging Master Sheff, a contest to find Meadowhall’s best new culinary talent in celebration of its newly-revamped Oasis Dining Quarter.
Trainee chefs from the centre’s restaurants must create innovative new dishes and set them before John and Greg.
The youngest participant, Sheffielder Luke Rhodes, 18, of Handmade Burger Co, said: “I’m buzzing! I’ve always wanted to do a competition like this. I met Gregg at the Good Food Show and I’m excited to meet him again.”
Ali Arab of Las Iguanas, Chorn Boonchert Sangpourad of ChaoBaby, Chris Pemberton of Harvester, Wagamama’s Ellis Andrew, Adam Johnson of TGI Fridays, Gabor Rajtik of La Tasca and Akram Miladi of Frankie and Benny’s will also be bidding for the Master Sheff trophy.
