THIS video and photo captures the dangers of festive drinking – as a tipsy South Yorkshire rail passenger fals through a gap and under a train.
The CCTV image, captured at Barnsley railway station, has been released by British Transport Police to highlight the dangers of being under the influence at rail stations during the festive season.
Luckily, the woman was recovered quickly and taken to hospital with just cuts and bruises.
Officers hope the footage, from earlier this year, will increase people’s awareness of taking care of themselves over the party season and enjoying celebrations safely.
Increased patrols to reassure travellers and deter any anti-social behaviour are planned for Christmas and New Year.
Insp Graham Bridges said: “This woman was lucky to only end up with a few minor injuries.
“We understand that at this time of year people will be out at parties and consuming alcohol. We certainly do not want to spoil this and would simply ask that anyone drinking does so responsibly.”
