TELEVISION presenter and comedy writer Clive Anderson will be the special guest of honour and principal speaker at this year’s Star Business Awards.

The barrister turned chat show and panel game host and stand up comedian, is known for his razor sharp humour and hilarious anecdotes.
His comedy writing credits include BBC’s Not the Nine O’Clock News and Alas Smith and Jones as well as ITV’s Around Midnight. Anderson also wrote for the late Frankie Howerd
While pursuing a career as a criminal law barrister in the early 1980s, he joined the alternative comedy scene and was the first act to appear at The Comedy Store when it opened in 1979.
Anderson became most famous as the host of the Channel 4’s Whose Line is it Anyway? and also hosted Clive Anderson Talks Back, and radio’s The Cabaret Upstairs in addition to appearing on radio’s The Unbelievable Truth and TV’s Mock the Week.
He is a past winner of the Comedy Presenter of the Year Award and has also presented several documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4. The Star Business Awards, will take place in Sheffield City Hall on Thursday, September 29.
Th Sheffield City Region’s pioneering businesses will be honoured with awards in recognition for their successes.
The Awards are designed to acknowledge and celebrate the successes of the whole of the business community within the Sheffield City Region.
They will also, highlight the hard work and achievement of companies that are thriving despite the downturn, while also showcasing the skills, innovation and reputation for quality of the local business community on a global stage.
A total of 14 awards are up for grabs, including awards for individual entrepreneurs, new businesses, innovation and international success.
The awards also span the full range of local business activities – from manufacturing to the digital and IT sectors – and reflect the contribution business makes to local life, in terms of regeneration, wealth creation, environmental improvement and employment.
