A NEW apprenticeship scheme is to showcase its work at an open day to be held at its refurbished headquarters in Rotherham on March 12.

The Wow Academy, based on Sheffield Road opposite the Brinsworth strip mills, prepares young people for careers in business administration, sales and customer service.

The scheme is aimed at 16 to 18-year-olds, helping them to pick up knowledge and experience while working in a busy business environment.

The academy’s first open event will highlight the increasing importance of practical learning for both apprentices and their prospective employers.

The aim is that, upon completing their apprenticeship, the young people will be ready for work and fully trained in all essential business qualifications.
