The Wig & Pen is putting the emphasis on giving good value for money in 2012.
On Sundays it’s offering a £16.50 three-course menu styled around the traditional lunch. All the typical Sunday elements you would expect feature, but it’s all done with a contemporary twist.
Start with leg of rabbit rolled in pancetta and chicken boudin (hand-made sausage) with red wine jelly, onion puree and bacon popcorn, move on to mains of roast Milestone pork with mashed potatoes, green beans, Yorkshire pud and rosemary jus and end with chocolate delice, dished up with milk ice cream and roasted hazelnuts.
Sunday diners can also choose from the ever-changing week’s set menu, which offers two courses and a half bottle of house wine for £20 or three courses with wine for £24.
Lunch is served noon-5pm on Sundays.
