THOUSANDS of students from across the north of England are expected to flock to Sheffield for one of the UK’s biggest shopping events.
Meadowhall is throwing open its doors after-dark for its second student lock-in, from 7pm tomorrow. Retailers including Topshop, Urban Outfitters, House of Fraser and H&M will give discounts and special offers to shopperswith valid student ID, NUS, or NUS Extra cards.
Last year’s event attracted 15,000 savvy young shoppers. Students from Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham and Derby have signed up for wristbands this year.
There will also be performances from dance acts Rationale and Stepz and music courtesy of Sheffield O2 Academy DJs.
Gemma Noble of Meadowhall, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Yorkshire students back to help celebrate the next academic year.”
