SHEFFIELD University students won awards after enrolling on a new scholarship programme run by banking giant Lloyds.
The initiative is aimed at students from below average income families and encourages them to study at leading universities such as Sheffield.
It also provides youngsters with work experience opportunities with the company and the chance to do volunteer work in their community.
Zoe Faulkner, aged 19, a business management student, won the Chief Executive Challenge for second year students and fellow students Alex O’Neill and Hannah Townsend were commended for their efforts at the excellence awards.
Thirty students from Sheffield took part in the scheme which helps with living costs and study materials, provides two paid summer internships and a dedicated mentor.
