Sweet-toothed folk whose gastronomic heaven would be to skip starters, ditch dinner and plunge straight into pudding are about to get their way.

A Pop-Up Puddings Garden Party is being staged as part of the city’s annual epic epicurean event, the Sheffield Food Festival.

It gives pud-lovers their just desserts - quite literally, missing out the main course and going straight to the sugar-fest.

The city’s Pop-up Puddings event, staged in the Winter Gardens by local company Coco Catering, will kick off the foodie fun on the first day of the three-day festival, Friday, September 20.

Coco Catering’s Blanche & Richard Spataro and Seven Hill’s WI member Anna Tebble are planning four puddings using seasonal produce, fresh herbs and floral flavours, with a guest pudding being made by the Pure on Raw café in Shalesmoor, which makes desserts using only raw ingredients.

Pop-up Puddings aim to hold four events a year at unique venues in Sheffield. Previous events have been held at the Fire & Police Museum, the Lantern Theatre, Hagglers Corner and Ecclesall Woods.

Tickets for the pop-up pudding event, priced £18, and are available through eventbrite.

Booking is essential as places are limited.
