Would-be entrepreneurs in Barnsley are being urged to attend a 48-hour Business Start-Up event, led by Fraser Doherty, the founder of sugar free jam company Superjam.
The fast-track event at Barnsley FC will take business-minded young people, aged 14 to 24, from their initial idea to being ready to start trading in just two days, with Fraser helping to write their first business plan.
A series of workshops will take delegates through each step of starting their own business, from developing an idea to producing a fully formed business plan. Everyone who attends will receive a specially designed logo, in consultation with a graphic designer.
And to help start-ups thrive there’s a chance to apply for a grant of £2,000 to cover materials and rent. The event is open to those who live in, or aim to start a business in, Barnsley.
Enterprise Champion Richard Shaw is helping to organise the two-day event. “Fraser Doherty is still in his twenties – he is a really inspirational figure.”
