A South Yorkshire pub is celebrating its anniversary by hosting the launch of a new range of ‘extreme-brewed’ ales.
The first beer in the range by Raw Brewery Company will be unveiled at the first anniversary of The Butchers Arms in Woodsetts this weekend.
Each of the beers in the Xtreme range will place different aspects of the brewing process under the microscope, and will be brewed only once.
The Xtreme No 1 Aussie Gold, a hopped golden beer, will be available at The Butchers Arms during the anniversary celebrations.
To mark the occasion live music from 12 performers, and 26 different beers, will be available from Friday to Sunday evening. A family fun day, with stalls, a bouncy castle and games, is being organised by Woodsetts Primary PTA on Saturday.
The pub was re-opened in August last year after Stavely-based Raw Brewery Company secured a lease with the pub’s owners, Enterprise Inns, allowing it to stock its own beers.
David Hemstock, director of the Raw Brewing Company, said: “When we re-opened The Butchers Arms we wanted to create a pub that not only offered good beer and good food, but also a place that made a positive contribution to the local community.
“Our anniversary weekend is an important milestone for the pub, and by creating a packed weekend of live entertainment, new and unusual beers to try, we wanted to thank all our customers who have helped to make the pub such a success.”
Since re-opening, The Butchers Arms has been given two awards by the Rotherham branch of CAMRA, as Autumn Pub of the Season and also runner-up in the Branch Pub of the Year category.
