A SOUTH Yorkshire farm is taking on tourist attractions from across the country in a bid to win a top award.
Cannon Hall Farm, at Cudworth, Barnsley, is in the running for the Best Tourism Experience at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence.
The awards, organised by tourism board Visit England, promote the nation’s best places to visit and stay, from large hotels to small B&Bs and tourist attractions.
Cannon Hall is home to hundreds of animals, and the family-run farm boasts one of the largest children’s playgrounds in the north.
Four tourism hotspots in North Derbyshire are also up for prizes - Peak District holiday sites Hoe Grange and Wheeldon Trees are shortlisted for the Sustainable Tourism Award, while Fischers restaurant at Baslow is a contender for the Taste of England Award. Chesterfield’s Tourism Information Centre is shortlisted for Visitor Information Provider of the Year.
