Youngsters are turning the pages of gripping new reads after a South Yorkshire firm donated £1,000 to buy books for all 470 children at Thorpe Hesley Primary.

Rotherham road surface specialist SteelPhalt is celebrating its 50th birthday by ‘strengthening links with its neighbours’.

SteelPhalt Commercial Manager Dean Raynor said: “The gift of reading is one of the most important things you can give to any child so it gives us real pleasure to be helping the school in this way.”
