Lending conditions have begun to stabilise for Britain’s manufacturers, but the overall picture remains mixed with few signs that lending to business has eased significantly, according to a survey by the manufacturers’ organisation, the EEF.

According to EEF regional director Andy Tuscher, a lack of competition in the market for lending to SMEs is still keeping costs too high and preventing the flow of finance that the UK’s growing companies need.
