Sheffield City Council labour leader, Julie Dore, and cabinet member for business, jobs and growth, Helen Mirfin-Boukouris, are to meet representatives of small firms and the business support sector in Sheffield.

The event, organised by the Federation of Small Businesses, is intended to identify issues facing small firms and influence future Council policy.

It will take place at Club Baize, 14 West Street, Beighton on Monday June 27.

Entries are arriving for this year’s Star Business Awards. Categories include two individual awards. The Business Person Award will go to the individual who has set an example of dedicated leadership and achievement within their own business, or made a significant contribution to the business community or to the wider community through their efforts.

The Young Business Person Award will got to someone under 35 who displays a clear understanding of the business environment and the demands involved in running a business, demonstrates enthusiasm for the role and has the potential to become a significant contributor to the local business community.
