TWO Sheffield property consultancies have joined forces.
SMC Chartered Surveyors has acquired Hale Saunders, which was founded in 1995 by Martin Saunders, who is remaining with the business as a consultant.
Mike Hull, managing director of SMC, which was set up in 1999, said, “I am delighted that Martin is joining us. He is well-liked and respected in our industry and he enables us to offer additional services, such as residential valuations and surveys. The acquisition also means that SMC will have a larger presence in the commercial property market, a larger team of skilled property experts and a wider client base.”
SMC has also announced the return of John Higgins, who has worked for the Valuation Office Agency and BNP Paribas Real Estate since last working for SMC. He will be responsible for the firm’s commercial estate agency, property management and business rates consultancy.
Paul Trudgill, managing partner of solicitors Hlw Keeble Hawson represented SMC in the acquisition.
Mr Trudgill said: “Hlw Keeble Hawson has a well-established relationship with SMC and it’s been rewarding to share in the company’s exciting journey during the last few years.
“SMC and Hale Saunders are both very well-respected regional property specialists with complementary skill sets, and this deal creates a new offering with broad expertise across almost every property discipline.”
