Smaller businesses are surging into serviced office space in Sheffield city centre according to new figures released by industry experts.
Data compiled by office rental agency, officebroker.com found that new lettings in Sheffield were up by 50 per cent compared to the first quarter of last year.
However, compared to this same period last year the average size requirement has fallen from nearly nine persons to slightly more than two.
According to officebroker.com, the change is a ‘key indicator that smaller businesses are taking up residence’.
The average rental price fell from £251 in 2012 to £229 per desk - a drop of almost nine per cent, highlighting the need for smaller, office space.
