Student quantity surveyors Nick Gonella, left, and Thomas Lowe landed work experience with Doncaster house builder Keepmoat - a key player in the Sheffield Housing Company which is set to build 2,300 homes in the city.
Nick said: “It has been a real eye opener. There are so many aspects to work which you simply cannot learn at university and although challenging, I feel I have benefited massively from the experience.”
Tom Fenton, SHC project director, said they had commissioned £5.5m worth of work and services from city region businesses - 30 per cent of the total spent on 118 homes built so far.
