The Sheffield-based director of leading metals processing plant designer Siemens Metals Technology UK is to take over as president of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce
Jon Stewart, left, is responsible for Siemens iron making technology, leading a global business with a turnover in excess of £120 million and 200 full-time staff in the UK, US and India.
He also acts as the local representative of the broader Siemens plc, consisting of more than 20 businesses with 14,000 staff, spanning the industrial, energy and healthcare sectors
Jon Stewart joined the Chamber’s board in 2010 and will take over from Suzanne Liversidge, a partner at the Sheffield-office of international law firm Kennedys, who became the first female president of the Chamber last year.
He will be installed as president at the Chamber’s 155th Annual General Meeting, which takes place at the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria on Monday, October 8.
