Sherburn to manage stadium

John Sherburn has been appointed manager of the Keepmoat Stadium by owners Doncaster Rovers Football Club.

Mr Sherburn, 51, joins the stadium from Doncaster Council, where he was Head of Leisure and Culture.

During his time with the council, he held a number of roles including Leisure Services Manager and general manager of Dearne Valley Leisure Trust.

At the stadium, he will be working alongside facilities manager Julie Nichol.

Mr Sherburn said: “My new role will be very hands on and it is great to be coming back to my roots.

“As stadium manager, I will be responsible for overseeing a number of areas within the Keepmoat including health and safety, maintenance, cleaning, stewards, security and the soccer centre, as well as looking after special events and securing new business for the venue.”

n Specialist legal apprenticeship provider Damar Training has appointed Steven Sutherland as a legal trainer.

Mr Sutherland has 25 years experience and joins the Stockport-based firm from the Sheffield offices of law firm Simpson Sissons & Brooke where he was training manager in addition to being a solicitor.
