Big names in brewing will descend on Sheffield next year when the city hosts a key industry conference.

Beer Now will take place immediately after the 2017 BeerX event, organised by the Society of Independent Brewers, or Siba.

Siba marketing manager Neil Walker said: “Sheffield is a fantastic beer city and a perfect place for Siba to hold the UK’s biggest beer and brewing event, BeerX, which includes our ‘Festival of Beer’ where members of the public can taste the best beers from independent craft breweries in the UK.

“In 2017 we will have the added attraction of hosting the Beer Now conference as well, attracting beer writers, bloggers, marketeers and communicators of all things beer to Sheffield - in what is promising to be the must attend beer event of 2017.”

Earlier this year a report named Sheffield the world’s best beer city, and the return of BeerX for the fourth year in a row confirms its place among the brewing elite.

The conference will take place at Ice Sheffield in March next year.

Siba director of operations Nick Stafford said: “We are extremely pleased to be hosting the Beer Now Conference at BeerX in 2017.

“BeerX is already the UK’s biggest beer and brewing event, so the addition of the Beer Now conference widens the scope even further and brings its own audience of beer bloggers and writers who are so influential to our industry.”
